Different Portrait Poses - Page 37
I decided to try something different. The 3 pictures on this page are of
Sam on a white platform and with a white background. The background is
actually my 4x4' white diffusion panel that I built and used in earlier
shots. Because of the close croping you can't see the edges.
For lighting I am using my new 7'x48" diffusion panel to camera left. To
camera right I have my 60" white umbrella. Also to camera right but back
almost behind Sam is a kicker light shooting into a 32" umbrella. Both
kicker and diffusion panel are set for about f5.6 and the main light with
the 60" umbrella is set for f8. I wanted to try for less depth of field
this time.
This picture of Sam has him sitting on the platform I
built but it has a white wall panel on top and in the front. These
pictures came out darker than I had planned, which I believe is a result
of all the extra light reflecting from the white fooling my flash meter
into thinking there was more light than there really was. Next time I'm
going to try opening up one more fstop from the indicated reading on the
flash meter or else throw a dark blanket over the platform while I take my
readings.
Sam again.
Again, here is
Sam but I moved a lot closer.
